At 1048 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. These
thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 nm southwest
of Munuscong to near Point Aux Chenes, moving east at 40 knots.
Locations impacted include...
Mackinac Island, Sugar Island, Beaver Tail Point, The Mackinac
Bridge, Potagannissing Bay, Drummond Island, Neebish Island, De Tour
Village, Saint Ignace, Saint Martin Island, Mackinac Bridge, Detour
Village, Marquette Island, Saint Marys River, Lime Island, Munuscong,
and Gros Cap.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.

At 945 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This
thunderstorm was located 14 nm southwest of Barkers Island, or 16 nm
southwest of Duluth Lift Bridge Channel, moving northeast at 35
knots.
The strong thunderstorm will be near...
Barkers Island, Superior Harbor, Duluth Harbor, and Superior Entry
around 1000 PM CDT.
Duluth Lift Bridge Channel around 1005 PM CDT.
Other locations impacted by the strong thunderstorm include Superior
Entry.

...WATER LEVEL FLUCTUATIONS ON THE ST. MARY`S RIVER...
Water level gauges on the St. Mary`s River are indicating rapidly
changing water levels due to thunderstorms in the vicinity of
Whitefish Bay and the SOO locks.
Several cycles of water level falls and rises are likely between
10:30 PM and at least 2:30 AM perhaps longer. Largest changes in
water levels...up to 3 feet or more...can be expected on upper
portions of the river from Point Iroquois to the locks at Sault Ste.
Marie. Water level changes up to one foot can be expected from below
the Soo Locks to Munuscong Lake.
Mariners should be aware of rapidly rising and falling water
levels...particularly for operators above the Soo Locks. Be sure to
monitor marine radio for information on this situation.

capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. The thunderstorms
were located 8 nm northeast of Talbot Island, or 37 nm south of St.
Simons Island, moving south at 5 knots.
