.UPDATE...
Issued 920 PM CDT Sun May 25 2025

No major changes to the forecast with largely clear skies and
light winds tonight with the strengthening high pressure over
the region.

Kuroski

.SHORT TERM...
Issued 237 PM CDT Sun May 25 2025

Rest of this Afternoon through Monday night:

Fair weather cu will continue this afternoon. The lake breeze
boundary will surge west late this afternoon, with a quick cool
down into the 50s this evening as the boundary moves through.

Quiet conditions are expected tonight, with lows falling into
the low to mid 40s. Temperatures for Memorial Day will be
similar to today, with upper 50s to low 60s near the lake and
mid to upper 60s inland. East winds will be a touch breezier,
and mid and high level clouds will likely increase by late in
the day. No precipitation is expected through Monday night.

.LONG TERM...
Issued 237 PM CDT Sun May 25 2025

Tuesday through Sunday:

Shortwave energy lifting northeastward through the Plains will
bring increased precipitation chances to the region starting
Tuesday. Showers will increase in coverage through the day
Tuesday, though it likely won`t be an all-day rain. By Tuesday
night into Wednesday, an upper level low will park itself over
the western Great Lakes. This should result in fairly widespread
rain across the region, with some bands of moderate rain at
times. Tough to pin down exact locations of the heaviest rain
at this point, but ensemble probabilities suggest that at least
portions of the area could see a total of 1-2 inches over the
course of a few days. Rates will be low enough to preclude any
significant hydro concerns.

Temperatures during this stretch will remain below average (low
70s this time of year), with highs on Wednesday probably not
making it out of the 50s.

Forecast uncertainty increases considerably for the end of the
workweek, with quite a range of potential ways that the upper
low exits the region. Overall, lower end chances (30-40%) for
showers seems reasonable at this point, but PoPs should be able
to be better refined over the next few days. An early look at
the weekend favors temperatures at or a little below average,
with northwest flow persisting over much of the central US.

.AVIATION...
Issued 920 PM CDT Sun May 25 2025

VFR conditions are expected through the TAF period with light
and variable winds overnight tonight with light to modest east
winds Monday. Limited cloud cover through Monday morning with
high clouds gradually pushing in later as the next system starts
to push in. Rain and lower CIGS would not be expected until
later Tuesday with this next system.

Kuroski

&&

.MARINE...
Issued 237 PM CDT Sun May 25 2025

High pressure will continue to gradually build southward into
the Great Lakes region through Memorial Day. Generally light
north to northeast winds are expected during this period. East
to northeast winds are expected to increase Tuesday into
Wednesday, as the high shifts eastward and low pressure moves
northeast toward the region. These east to northeast winds will
persist through at least late Wednesday or early Thursday,
before turning westerly to northwesterly late in the week.
