.SYNOPSIS...
Dry conditions continue through the remainder of the working week,
as surface high pressure remains in control. Cooler temperatures
will be in place through the end of the week and the next chance for
rainfall will be this weekend, as a strong system moves through the
Ohio Valley region.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TODAY/...
Quiet weather continues throughout the day today, thanks to the
surface high pressure and large ridging over the region. The ridge
will actually amplify a bit over the next day or so as a shortwave
moves through the larger flow across the northern Great Lakes region.
This feature will provide an influx of mid-layer moisture. A
combination of large scale subsidence from the ridge and lack of
deeper moisture with the shortwave will prevent any precipitation
with this system. However, a broken deck of clouds will be in place
across most of the CWA on Wednesday, dissipating into the evening
hours.
The enhanced cloud cover (combined with the Tuesday night passage of
a dry cold front) will help keep temperatures cooler on Wednesday,
with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.

.SHORT TERM /TONIGHT THROUGH 6 PM THURSDAY/...
The amplified ridge will actually retrograde slightly on Wednesday
night into Thursday, while the surface high is elongated
longitudinally across the Great Lakes region, resulting in continued
dry and quiet conditions.

Overnight lows into Thursday fall to the upper 30s near central ohio
and upper 40s near the Tri-State/ OH and IN borders with, once again,
the possibility for some river valley fog. Thursday daytime remains
dry and mostly sunny, with daytime highs reaching the mid to upper
60s.

.LONG TERM /THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY/...
Surface high pressure centered over Quebec will be extending
southward into the upper Ohio Valley Thursday night. With light
winds and mostly clear skies, we should start off with some good
radiational cooling. However, some high level clouds may begin to
spill into the region from the west overnight so expect the coolest
readings across our eastern areas. Will generally range lows from
the mid to upper 30s in the east to the lower 40s west. This will
lead to the potential for some frost development, especially across
central Ohio.

Mid level ridging will shift quickly east across the Ohio Valley
Friday into Friday night ahead of a developing upper level trough
that will translate east across our region through early next week.
This will be accompanied by a cold front that will push across the
mid Ohio Vally Saturday night into Sunday. In developing southerly
flow and increasing moisture transport, showers and a chance of
thunderstorms will develop from the west later Saturday afternoon
into Saturday night. Given the timing, instability looks to be
fairly marginal across our area. This should help limit the overall
severe threat heading into Saturday night. Pcpn should then taper
off from the west on Sunday as the front moves off to the east.
Surface high pressure and a drier airmass will build into the area
for Monday and Tuesday.

Temperatures on Friday will be seasonable with highs in the upper
60s to around 70 degrees. In developing WAA, it will be breezy and
much warmer on Saturday with highs in the upper 70s to around 80
degrees. A cooler airmass will then settle into the region behind
the front through the first part of next week with highs Sunday
through Tuesday in the 60s.

.AVIATION /04Z WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
VFR conditions for all sites throughout the period with the exception
of KLUK, where river valley fog will once again be prevalent during
the early morning hours. Overnight/early morning winds are less than
5 knots, out of the north.

A mid level BKN deck will move in from the northwest around 8-10Z,
lingering throughout the day on Wednesday and dissipating during the
evening hours. Winds on Wednesday increase to 5-10 knots out of the
northeast, decreasing again after sunset.

OUTLOOK...Thunderstorms are possible late Saturday.
