.SHORT TERM /THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT/...
Issued at 156 PM CDT Fri Apr 11 2025

Synoptic overview and current conditions: Water vapor imagery and
upper level analysis show a deep trough from the Great Lakes
into the southeast U.S. An upper ridge was nudging east from the
rockies into the northern and central plains with the next upper
system pushing into the west coast. Surface high pressure was
building into our area and we`re starting to see wind gusts
diminish as this high shifts into the area.

Tonight: The high will move overhead tonight and we should see a
clear sky with a light and variable wind. Portions of the
eastern Ozarks may dip into the mid to upper 30s with patchy
frost possible. Will start to see a southerly wind develop
towards morning with the high shifting to the east.

Saturday: Upper ridging will begin to build into the area on
Saturday and we`ll start to see low level warm advection.
Temperatures should reach the mid 60s to mid 70s with warmest
conditions in the west and a mostly sunny sky.

Saturday night: A low level jet will develop over the area out
of the southwest on Saturday night with 40-60kts at 850mb across
the CWA ahead of an advancing shortwave. Dry conditions will
persist across the area with mild conditions in the mid 40s to
upper 50s for lows. Warmest conditions will be in the west.

&&

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Issued at 156 PM CDT Fri Apr 11 2025

Windy conditions on Sunday: Gusty winds ahead of an approaching
front will occur on Sunday across the area, with the highest
winds west of highway 65. Some gusts there of 40 to 45 mph will
be possible. Gusts of 30 to 35 mph will be possible elsewhere
across the CWA.

The front will start to push into the area Sunday night and
continue through the area on Monday. Minor chances of
rain(15-20%) will be possible with this front over west central
and central Missouri.

Shower and thunderstorm chances Wednesday - Thursday: An upper
level shortwave will move out of the southwest U.S. and into the
central plains on Wednesday, trying to phase in with a northern
stream trough. By late Wednesday, this system will begin to push
into the mid Mississippi valley with a low level jet ahead of
the trough bringing increased low level moisture into the
region. Showers and some thunderstorms will be possible late
Wednesday into Thursday. Models still have some timing issues to
resolve, so while we have roughly(20-50%) pops going during that
period, it will likely not be raining the entire time and will
likely be more concentrated around the front and upper wave that
move through.

Warmer than normal temperatures are expected for Wednesday and
Thursday and signals remain for warmer than normal temperatures
to continue into the 8 to 14 day outlook.
