.SHORT TERM (This evening through Saturday)...
Issued at 254 PM EDT Fri Apr 11 2025

Satellite shows afternoon Cu across the forecast area with gusts up
to 25 mph being recorded at surface observations. Surface high
pressure will continue to settle into the region through the short
term. With that, winds will become light after sunset as well as
skies clearing. These conditions will allow for ample radiational
cooling tonight with temps dropping to near to below freezing,
prompting the freeze warning tonight.

Quiet conditions continue tomorrow, with clear skies and light winds
continuing. Highs tomorrow will reach the upper 50s to near 60.

&&

.LONG TERM (Saturday night through Friday)...
Issued at 254 PM EDT Fri Apr 11 2025

Saturday Night and Sunday...

Warm advection will begin Saturday night and ramp up Sunday ahead of
the next system. Increasing winds aloft will bring some isentropic
lift to the area, but for now moisture and forcing don`t look to be
enough for mentionable PoPs across central Indiana. That being said,
wouldn`t rule out a few sprinkles or an isolated shower.

Better mixing on Sunday will bring down some wind gusts to around 30
mph.

Believe that winds Saturday night will prevent frost formation,
though will have to watch the far east.

Monday...

A strong area of low pressure will move into the northern Great
Lakes, pushing a cold front through central Indiana. The current
timing of the front would have the front through much of the area
before peak heating, which means it will have less instability to
work with.

For now it appears that only the far southeastern portions of
central Indiana will have enough instability and shear for a low
chance of strong to severe storms in the afternoon.

Moisture will be adequate for scattered convection, so will keep
PoPs mainly in the chance category.

Tuesday and Wednesday...

Colder air will flow into the area on Tuesday. An upper trough and
perhaps a lingering surface trough will keep some clouds around.
Can`t rule out a shower, but confidence is not high enough to
include at this time.

Skies will clear Tuesday night and allow temperatures to fall into
the 30s. Will continue to monitor for some potential frost
formation. Wednesday will be dry and warmer but still below normal.

Thursday and Friday...

Another low pressure system will bring more rain chances to the area
during this time. Details remain hazy enough to not be more specific
than that at this time.

Beyond Friday...

Cool conditions look prevail on Saturday the 19th with warmer but
still below normal readings for Sunday the 20th.

.AVIATION (00Z TAF Issuance)...
Issued at 632 PM EDT Fri Apr 11 2025

- None

Discussion:

VFR expected through the period under the influence of surface high
pressure. Clear or mostly clear skies, unrestricted visibility, and
light winds generally out of the north or northwest and occasionally
variable are expected, with outlying sites going calm overnight.
