High pressure ridging across Florida will produce low rain chances
today, but the temps will be a little on the hot side once again.
Latest visible satellite imagery and surface observations are
showing sunny skies across the Florida peninsula and temperatures
already in the mid to upper 80`s. Daytime highs will top out around
92-97 degrees this afternoon, with heat indices well into the triple
digits reaching 110 degrees in some areas. This has warranted the
issuance of a Heat Advisory for much of west central and southwest
Florida this afternoon through 6 pm. Forecast looks good with no
changes needed at this time.

High pressure ridging across Florida and into the eastern gulf
waters will produce light winds 10 knots or less, seas 2 feet or
less and low rain and storm chances (20-30 percent) over the area
today. Moisture increases on Monday with slightly higher rain
chances expected. An upper low and troughing then moves across
Florida and into the eastern gulf on Tuesday and Wednesday with even
higher rain chances expected through the end of next week.
