...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM, MARINE, FIRE WEATHER...

.SHORT TERM (TDY-SAT)...
Issued at 225 PM EDT Fri Apr 11 2025

Mostly clear skies across the area before deep upper level trough
pushes associated frontal boundary over the state tonight and
early Saturday. Guidance continues to the potential for showers
and storms ahead of it. In addition, if storms do materialize,
the environment could become severe. A few limiting factors would
be moisture and whether or not there will be enough instability
available. On the other hand, there will be plenty of upper level
support. The main threats if this occurs would be hail and strong
winds.

On Saturday, high pressure builds into the region behind the
front, with cooler and drier airmass taking over the state. This
will provide mostly sunny skies and continued occasionally breezy
conditions particularly during the afternoon. Afternoon highs will
be in the mid to upper 70s. Additionally, there will be a High
Risk of rip currents expected at area beaches on Saturday, while
the elevated fire risk is likely to persist away from the coast
during the afternoon.

&&

.LONG TERM (SUN-THU)...
Issued at 225 PM EDT Fri Apr 11 2025

During the long term, high pressure control weather conditions.
Lighter winds expected on Sunday helping beach conditions and
reduced fire weather concerns. Pleasant and rain free weather
conditions expected through the week as temps warm into the mid to
upper 80s.

&&

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 153 PM EDT Fri Apr 11 2025

Prevailing VFR conditions through the afternoon before weather
begins to deteriorate into the evening ahead of approaching
front. Storm coverage and development will be limited by moisture
availability. A TEMPO line was added to show the window with the
highest potential for showers/storms. PEriods of MVFR/IFR ceilings
and visibilities are possible during this time. Breezy west to
southwesterly winds become north to northwest by Saturday and
remain through the weekend.

&&

.MARINE...
Issued at 225 PM EDT Fri Apr 11 2025

A cold front moving across the waters this evening and overnight
will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms, with winds
increasing to exercise caution levels tonight and remaining
elevated through Saturday before subsiding into Sunday. Showers
and storms diminish by Saturday morning with dry conditions
expected into mid week.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...
Issued at 225 PM EDT Fri Apr 11 2025

Approaching cold front will push across the peninsula tonight
bringing a few showers and storms mainly to northern and central
parts of the forecast area. Breezy westerly winds ahead of the
front this afternoon coupled with relative humidities dropping to
around 30 percent and a moderate significant fire potential have
led to the issuance of a Red Flag Warning for Polk County, effective
this afternoon into early evening. Cooler and drier air moving into
the area behind the front along with lingering elevated winds will
lead to continued elevated fire potential again along with high
dispersions on Saturday afternoon. Winds diminish on Sunday, slightly
alleviating overall fire concerns, however, critical minimum RHs
during the afternoons will persist into next week along with moderate
significant fire potential.
