.UPDATE...
Aviation and Air Quality Sections Updated

&&

.KEY MESSAGES...
1. A warming trend is expected to continue through this week,
with temperatures reaching triple digits by Friday.

2. Dryness is expected to continue through the next week with
steady minimum RH`s in the 15 to 25 range in the Valley and in
the single digits for the Desert. Light winds will keep fire
risk low.

&&

.DISCUSSION...
The weak trough over the Southwest continues to weaken and move
east, leading to a continued warming of afternoon temperatures
and lighter winds. Leftover moisture in the Sierra Nevada may
create cumulus build-ups for that area, though thunderstorms are
not likely today. Triple digits are expected to return by this
Friday and are expected to slowly increase through the weekend
and into next week. These temperatures may pose a moderate heat
risk by Friday and through the weekend.

Dry air is expected to stick around through the next week, as
well, with afternoon RH`s remaining in the 15 to 25 percent
range in the Valley and in the single digits in the desert. As
the trough moves out and a weak ridge builds in, winds are
expected to become primarily light and terrain driven for much
of the region. This will keep the risk for rapid fire spread low
through the next week. Chances for thunderstorms today are
below 5% in the Sierra Nevada due to the trough weakening and
moving east, though leftover moisture may cause the build up of
cumulus clouds along the crest.
