.DISCUSSION...FOR EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA INCLUDING ORANGE...
SAN DIEGO...WESTERN RIVERSIDE AND SOUTHWESTERN SAN BERNARDINO
COUNTIES...
.SHORT TERM (Today through Saturday)...
Easterly to northeasterly offshore flow for inland areas will go
weakly onshore for areas near the coast for tonight through Friday
night. There will be locally gusty east to northeast winds along
and below the coastal slopes of the mountains into this afternoon
with the stronger gusts to 35 to 45 mph for the mountains and
inland valleys in San Diego County.
The local WRF continues to show a weak coastal eddy and some
increase in humidity near the coast for late tonight into Friday
morning and again for late Friday night into Saturday morning.
However, statistical guidance for coastal airports for Orange and
San Diego Counties shows no ceilings and only occasional brief
reductions in visibility to around 5 miles in fog.
Another round of easterly to northeasterly offshore flow will
develop on Saturday and continue into early Sunday with the
stronger gusts along and below the coastal slopes of the
mountains to 30 to 40 mph.
There will be minor day to day differences in high temperatures
through Saturday with high temperatures as much as 10 to 15
degrees above average for the valleys. High temperatures will
range from the lower 70s near the coast to the upper 70s to mid
80s for the valleys with the lower 80s for the lower deserts.
&&
.LONG TERM (Sunday through Wednesday)...
Offshore flow will weaken and weak onshore flow will develop on
Sunday and continue into Wednesday with weakening high pressure
aloft. There will be a gradual cooling trend for Sunday through
Wednesday. High temperatures for inland areas will still be around
5 degrees above average on Wednesday of next week with high
temperatures ranging from the mid to upper 60s near the coast to
the upper 60s to mid 70s for the valleys with the mid 70s for the
lower deserts. Daily chances for measurable rainfall will remain
below 5 percent through Wednesday of next week.
