Skies are partly cloudy across the Mid-South this afternoon with
temperatures in the upper 50s to around 70 degrees. Scattered
showers and isolated thunderstorms are dropping south into
west Tennessee and north Mississippi. Some of the thunderstorms
have been producing some pea size hail. The showers and
thunderstorms were associated with an upper level trough with is
swinging through the region. Most of the precipitation should exit
the region by early evening.

High pressure will build into the region tonight with dry and cool
weather expected. Temperatures will be on the chilly side tonight
with lows in the upper 30s to mid 40s. Some patchy areas of frost
may develop over portions of northwest Tennessee overnight. Saturday
will see dry weather with below normal temperatures with highs in
the low to mid 60s. By Sunday, high pressure will be east of the
region allowing south winds to bring warmer air into the Mid-
South. Temperatures will be above normal on Sunday with highs in
the mid to upper 70s.

Dry and warm weather will continue into Monday ahead of an
approaching cold front with highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s. A
few showers and isolated thunderstorms may move into portions of
west Tennessee as the cold front moves through Monday night.

Dry and cooler weather is expected for Tuesday and Wednesday as
high pressure builds into the region behind the cold front. The
next chance for showers and thunderstorms across the entire region
looks to be for Wednesday night and Thursday as a storm system
moves across the central Plains.

VFR conditions are expected to prevail for the most part, with the
exception of a brief potential reduction to MVFR CIGs at MKL with
this recently developed Cu field. A few wraparound showers will
be making their way across the airspace around this afternoon, but
confidence and coverage was too low to have any prevailing precip
in the TAFs, just VCSH for MEM and PROB30 for MKL. Gusty
northwest winds this afternoon will transition to light
northeasterly winds by sunset.
