.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 129 PM CDT Tue May 20 2025

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible through the
evening hours for mainly central and eastern locations. Storm
initiating appears to have begun across the area meaning areas to
the east need to remain weather aware over the next few hours.
Large hail will be the primary concern although gusty winds or a
tornado cannot be ruled out...especially as storms continue into
eastern Arkansas where the environment is more favorable.

Thunderstorms are expected wrap up for these locations just before
sunset with calm and drier conditions expected Wednesday into
Thursday before more unsettled weather moves back into the
forecast for Memorial Day Weekend.

Temperatures are expected to be average to slightly above average
through the period. High temperatures are expected to be in the
upper 70s to upper 80s this afternoon and Wednesday. By Thursday
and Friday afternoons, highs are expected to be in the lower 70s
to mid 80s.

(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1225 PM CDT Tue May 20 2025

Mostly VFR conditions are expected through much of the period.
With that said, TSRA/SHRA are possible across LLQ/PBF this
afternoon and evening. Some SHRA/TSRA could make their way into
LIT but confidence of storm initiation is not high. MVFR/IFR
conditions will be possible with thunderstorms. Winds will be out
of the southwest shifting to the northwest by the end of the
period. Winds could be gusty at times during the afternoon hours
before becoming light and variable overnight.
