...New SHORT TERM, LONG TERM, AVIATION...

.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Friday)
Issued at 101 AM CDT THU JUL 10 2025

A mid to upper-level trough axis will provide a focus for
numerous showers and storms today and again on Friday. The highest
rain chances will be focused near and south of I-20, where PWAT
values are expected to exceed 2 inches. With westerly 500 mb flow
of 15 to 20 knots, clusters of convection should have enough
forward speed to limit the potential for localized flooding.

.LONG TERM...
(Friday night through Wednesday)
Issued at 101 AM CDT THU JUL 10 2025

A mid-level ridge is expected to develop over the Deep South on
Saturday and persist through Monday, which should result in
diurnal convection becoming more scattered to isolated in nature.
Rain chances could increase for Tuesday and Wednesday if the ridge
breaks down in response to a westward moving disturbance as shown
by the GFS and Canadian.

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 101 AM CDT THU JUL 10 2025

VFR conditions should prevail through the early part of the TAF
period, but showers and thunderstorms are expected to become
numerous especially after 18Z, leading to temporary reductions in
visibility and gusty winds.

NOTE: AMD LTD TO CLD VIS AND WIND has been added at MGM until
further notice due to comms issues.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...

A moist summertime air mass will be in place through the
foreseeable future with elevated rain chances through Friday and
somewhat lower chances for the weekend. 20 foot winds should
remain less than 8 mph from the west and southwest.
