Issued 10:00 AM NST 4 November 2025 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 10:00 a.m. NST today intensifying low 971 mb located near
Sable Island.
By 10:00 a.m. NST Wednesday low 948 mb located over southeastern
Funk Island Bank.
At 10:00 a.m. NST today ridge located on a line north-south over
the eastern Grand Banks.
By 3:30 p.m. NST today departing ridge located east of the Marine
District.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:58 AM NST 4 November 2025 A rapidly intensifying low pressure system near Sable Island will
track northeastward across Eastern Newfoundland this evening and
across Funk Island Bank on Wednesday. Storm to hurricane force
northeasterlies to southeasterlies will develop ahead of the low this
afternoon and will shift to storm to hurricane force southwesterlies
to northwesterlies in its wake.
Large waves and pounding surf will produce higher than normal water
levels along south facing shorelines on Tuesday and along north
facing shorelines on Wednesday, especially near high tides.
Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for South Coast, East Coast - Cape St. Francis and south,
and Southwestern Grand Banks. Storm warnings are in effect for all
remaining waters except Strait of Belle Isle and Gulf waters, where
gale warnings are in effect.
Marine interests are also advised that high water level warnings are
in effect for Southwest Coast - Ramea and east, South Coast, East
Coast, and Northeast Coast - Cape St. John and south.
