Marine Weather StatementIssued 3:06 PM AST 8 January 2026 A low pressure system north of Banquereau will move to lie east of Newfoundland this evening. Strong to gale force north to northwest winds over eastern waters behind the low will gradually diminish as the system pulls away and a ridge builds in from the west.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for Fourchu, Banquereau and Cabot Strait.
