Technical Marine Synopsis
Issued 10:00 AM AST 4 November 2025 Today Tonight and Wednesday At 10:00 a.m. AST today intensifying low 964 mb located east of
Sable Island.
By 8:00 p.m. AST tonight low 951 mb located near the Avalon
Peninsula.
At 3:00 a.m. AST Wednesday departing low 947 mb located northeast
of Newfoundland.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:55 AM AST 4 November 2025 A rapidly intensifying low pressure system just east of Sable Island
will continue to track northeastward to lie northeast of Newfoundland
by early Wednesday morning.
Storm force southerly winds ahead of the low will veer to storm to
hurricane force northwesterly winds in its wake. Elsewhere, gale to
possibly storm force northwest winds are forecast to develop.
Winds will begin to gradually diminish through the day on Wednesday
across the district.
Marine interests are advised that hurricane force wind warnings are
in effect for eastern shore - eastern half, Sable - eastern half,
Fourchu, Banquereau and Laurentian Fan - northern half.
Storm warnings are in effect for West Scotian Slope, East Scotian
Slope, Laurentian Fan - southern half, Cabot Strait and Gulf-Magdalen
- northeastern half. Gale warnings are in effect for all remaining
regions.
