At 3:30 p.m. ADT today ridge located from Quebec to New England. By 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight ridge located over the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
At 10:00 a.m. ADT Sunday departing ridge located over the eastern Marine District.
Marine Weather StatementIssued 2:42 AM ADT 4 April 2026 An intensifying trough of low pressure lying east-west over the marine district will move eastward and depart the region this afternoon. Strong to gale force winds associated with this feature will diminish later today and tonight as the trough moves off to the east and a ridge of high pressure moves across northern and eastern waters.
Another trough will approach from the west overnight tonight and will move across the district on Sunday. Winds will increase to strong to gale force southeasterlies ahead of the trough, then veer to strong southwesterlies in its wake.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for Grand Manan, Lurcher, East Scotian Slope, Banquereau, Laurentian Fan, Cabot Strait, Gulf-Magdalen, and Anticosti.
