located over southern Georges Bank.
By 8:00 p.m. ADT Friday Post-tropical Storm JOSEPHINE 988 mb
located over Laurentian Fan.

At 3:30 p.m. ADT Friday approaching high located over southern
Quebec.

Marine Weather Statement

Issued 7:51 PM ADT 22 October 2026 Post-tropical storm Josephine currently centered over the southern
sections of Georges Bank and is forecast continue along the southern
edge of the marine district tonight and across Laurentian Fan on
Friday. Gale to storm force northeasterlies will spread ahead of
Josephine, storm force northerlies are then expected in its wake
overnight with an area of hurricane force winds developing over the
southern most sections of the marine district. Gale force winds are
expected to linger into Saturday over eastern sections as Josephine
slowly continues eastward.

Marine interests are advised that hurricane force warnings are in
effect for Georges Bank - southern half, West Scotian Slope -
southern half and East Scotian Slope - southern half. Storm warnings
are in effect for Georges Bank - northern half, West Scotian Slope -
northern half, Sable - eastern half, East Scotian Slope - northern
half, Banquereau and Laurentian Fan. Gale warnings are in effect for
all remaining water except Fundy, Chaleur - Miscou, and Anticosti -
northwestern half.

At 6:00 PM ADT, post-tropical Josephine was located near 40.0
North 65.8 west, or about 320 nautical miles south-southwest of
Halifax. Maximum sustained winds were estimated at 55 knots and the
central pressure was 988 MB. Josephine was moving northeast at 15
knots. As Josephine has now become post-tropical, this is the last
advisory to be issued for this system.
