By 8:00 p.m. ADT tonight intensifying low 998 mb located southeast
of Laurentian Fan.
At 10:00 a.m. ADT today ridge located from Labrador Sea to New
England.
By 10:00 a.m. ADT Monday ridge located from Labrador Sea to
Georges Bank.
Marine Weather Statement
Issued 9:37 AM ADT 6 October 2024 A low pressure system developing south of the marine district will
intensify as it nears Laurentian Fan later today. Winds will increase
to strong to gale force northeasterlies over southeastern waters
throughout today and begin to weaken Monday morning.
Marine interests are advised that gale warnings are in effect for
Banquereau - southeastern half and Laurentian Fan.
At 6 A.M. ADT, hurricane Kirk was located near 33.5 north and 49.0
west, with maximum sustained winds of 90 knots and a central pressure
of 957 MB. Kirk is moving north-northeast at 20 knots and is not
expected to impact the marine district.
