Alert Details:
* WHAT...Snow expected above 6500 feet. Total snow accumulations of
4 to 8 inches along the I-80 and Highway 50 corridors. 1-2 feet of
snow south of Highway 50.

* WHERE...West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada.

* WHEN...Until 5 AM PDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Plan for slippery road conditions. Hazardous road
conditions are expected to impact the Monday and Tuesday commutes.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow levels will be 5500 to 6500 feet, with
heaviest snow accumulation expected late tonight into Tuesday.
Snow accumulations may be affected by diurnal trends and sun angle.

Areas Affected: Yosemite NP outside of the valley - Upper San Joaquin River - Kaiser to Rodgers Ridge - Kings Canyon NP - Grant Grove Area - Sequoia NP - South End of the Upper Sierra
 
Alert Details:
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected with snow levels 6,000 to 7,000 feet.
Total snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet, except around 3 feet over
the highest peaks.

* WHERE...A portion of central California.

* WHEN...Until 5 PM PDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and
blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The
hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday
morning commutes.

Information:
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for
the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely
necessary, drive with caution and be prepared for sudden changes in
conditions. Leave plenty of room between you and the motorist ahead
of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Avoid sudden
braking or acceleration, and be especially cautious on hills or when
making turns. Make sure your car is winterized and in good working
order.
