Areas Affected: Eastern Sierra Slopes of Inyo County
 
Alert Details:
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations 8 to 16
inches between 7000 and 9000 feet and 1 to 2 feet above 9000 feet.
Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Eastern Sierra Slopes.

* WHEN...From 5 PM Monday to 5 AM PDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel may become difficult  on Highway 168
west of Bishop due to icy and snow packed roads. Whitney Portal
will observe sharp deterioration in conditions with extreme danger
to hikers and campers unprepared for the winter weather.

Information:
Persons should consider delaying travel in the Sierra. If travel is
absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a
winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire
chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra
clothing.

Alert Details:
* WHAT...South-southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph
expected.

* WHERE...In California, Death Valley National Park, Morongo Basin,
and Western Mojave Desert. In Nevada, Esmeralda and Central Nye
County and Lincoln County.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 11 PM PDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

Blowing dust could produce localized rapid changes in visibility.

Information:
Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.
