Areas Affected: Alameda, CA - Contra Costa, CA - Marin, CA
 
Alert Details:
* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Northwestern Alameda County north of downtown Oakland,
western Contra Costa County and southern Marin County.

* WHEN...Until 515 AM PST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Water over
roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1115 PM PST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen.
- Several flooding reports are already coming in from Contra
Costa County. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches
are expected over the area. This additional rain will result
in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Concord, Berkeley, Richmond, Mountain View, Walnut Creek,
Martinez, Pleasant Hill, San Pablo, Lafayette, El Cerrito,
Hercules, Albany, Pinole, Orinda, Moraga, Mill Valley,
Larkspur, Piedmont and Emeryville.

Information:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

* WHERE...San Francisco, Marin Coastal Range, Sonoma Coastal

San Francisco Bay Shoreline, San Francisco Peninsula Coast

* WHEN...Until 6 AM PST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.
Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may
result.
