.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1045 PM CDT Mon Jun 29 2026

Hot, dry conditions continue through the forecast under broad mid-
level ridging over eastern CONUS. Temperatures will remain
seasonable for late June/early July, with highs in the upper 90s to
low 100s (80s along the coast) and lows in the 70s. Heat indices
from 100-110 degF each afternoon will maintain a moderate risk of
heat related illness. Breezy south-southeasterly winds continue each
afternoon through the rest of the week, with winds to 20 mph gusting
to 25 mph.

Rain chances remain minimal through midweek, with dry air aloft and
subsidence suppressing convective development. By Wednesday, the
ridge slowly transiting east will increase support for sea breeze
showers along the coast daily Wednesday through Friday (low chances,
around 20%).
